Lots of your usual Christmas gifts (wine/spa trips/cheese boards) might be out this year. So what could you ask for? Here are a few gifts you will love. Send this to your partner to drop some hints nice and early!
A pregnancy massage. Helping with aches and pains, boosting oxytocin and allowing you some time to relax as well - winner! A pregnancy massage is a great gift for Christmas. Just make sure you are booking with someone with the right qualifications. My favourite pre and post natal massage therapist in Leeds is Caroline at Serenity Sports and Holistic massage in Farsley. She does vouchers so is perfect to contact if you’re looking for a gift.
A pregnancy pillow. You might already have this but if you don’t, get yourself one! I promise you won’t regret it. I delayed in my first pregnancy because I thought it was a lot of money but once I got one, I just wished I’d got it sooner as it helped so much with Pelvic Girdle Pain and genuinely did improve my sleep. There are lots on the market. Some of them double up as feeding support pillows as well so can be used postnatally. This was mine and I loved it but do a bit of research to find the right one for you.
A kneeling pad. Bit of a ‘stocking filler’ one for you. We were bought one when I was pregnant and I was a bit taken aback but my goodness me has it been useful! I used it in labour a LOT as my body instinctively wanted to be in kneeling positions and a lot of our floors are quite hard. We also use it every day when bathing the kids to save our knees from the tiles on our bathroom floor - winner! Any foam garden kneeling pad will do!
A really decent maternity coat. If you’re heavily pregnant over the winter and due in the early months of the year, a coat that will grow with you and baby is a great investment. I got this one and I still wear it now my boys are bigger as it’s so cosy and the drawstrings mean it shrinks back to your size postnatally as well as accommodating your bump as it grows. But not only does it fit you in, it is also perfect for baby wearing out and about in the colder months as it has a handy zip in panel. This one is particularly pricey and there are cheaper ones out there but I have worn mine now for 4 years and it still looks great (plus they have good resale value on Vinted!).
